As soon as the baby sea turtles hatch from their eggs, they begin to make their way to the ocean. They do not return to the shore unless they are a female and are about to lay eggs. They then dig a hole in the beach to lay their eggs in, and cover them up with sand once they have been laid. The female sea turtle then returns back to the ocean, and she does not come out again unless she needs to lay more eggs.

Sea turtles are considered to be an endangered species because they are unable to survive in the pollution and oil spills that are in the oceans. There are many different issues that can arise if a sea turtle survives in water that has had an oil spill happen. Sea turtles run the possibility of losing their skin if they stay in oily waters. They can also become poisoned, which will eventually cause death if they are not found and quickly taken care of. Since there have been so many oil spills, the sea turtles are losing a lot of their habitat, and this is what is causing them to be an endangered species.
